Field Size: 550

alabama_1This great triathlon tradition continues, having celebrated 25 years in 2011. Enjoy gorgeous Oak Mountain State Park for one of the longest running triathlons in Alabama.

The race honors Buster Britton - one of the Birmingham area's original triathletes. Buster lost his life in a fun run after completing the Hawaii Ironman only a short time earlier. Buster was a true inspiration for triathletes as the sport began to take shape in Alabama.

Expect a smooth swim in Double Oak Lake, a mix of great downhills and sustained climbs on the bike and a 50/50 mix of flat and rolling on the run.

The Buster Britton Triathlon is brought to you by Team Magic, producers of the 2007-2008 USA Triathlon National Collegiate Triathlon Championship and the 2008 Tuscaloosa Tri-Palooza which included the Men's and Women's Olympic Trials Qualifier for the Beijing Olympics, and hosts of the 2011 Best of the U.S. National Championship at Alabama Coastal Triathlon.
