Four thousand acres of forest with three habitat types—oak/hickory, northern hardwood, and pine, each with their own diversity of wildflowers and birds; the cool, clean waters and sandy beach of Lake Dennison...what an ideal setting for a triathlon. Now in its sixth year, Massachusetts State Triathlon has a well-earned reputation for sensory delight, meticulous race management, and tough competition.
What an environment for the best Massachusetts triathletes to earn slots for the Best of the U.S. Championship. 2010's winner was John Babcock; John is from Connecticut, but to give you a perspective, he raced to 6th place at the National Championship.
So pass the word on to all your club and training friends; this race is the place for all Massachusetts triathletes to strut their stuff.
Due to its convenient border location, Massachusetts State Triathlon will also qualify New Hampshire's top amateurs for that state's Best of the U.S. slots.
