Swim 1.5K, Bike 23 miles, Run 6.5 miles
A two transition event, Motor City Triathlon is the home of the Detroit Grand Prix which most of the bike course uses –– a 4 lane, 1 way 5.8mi. loop of which athletes get 3 dedicated lanes around the entire island for the race. Super fast and flat as you can see from the bike splits in previous years. The run course is a two loop out and back right down the middle of the island through the back of the nature walk behind the old zoo. This is one of the best urban events in the entire U.S.

Motor City Triathlon
Belle Isle is Detroit's jewel, an island in the middle of the river with Canada on one side, Lake St. Clair on the north end, Ambassador bridge on the south end with the Detroit sky line on the other. The swim is at the beach in what the health department calls one of the cleanest stretches of water in the state.
