Capitol View Tri: Team Wisconsin could regain Big Cheese status

Mark Harms and Cindi Bannink have twice brought home the Fastest State Team Award for Wisconsin. The first time was 2007 when Cindi was 4th and Mark 3rd. The next year each was 7th overall, but that was only enough for 4th Fastest Team. Then in 2009--arguably the fastest and most competitive Best of the U.S. Championship race ever--the pair seriously hit their stride.

We forgive Cindi for racing at Kona last year and leaving Mark to fend for himself (which he did quite nicely, thank you, with his highest finish ever, at 2nd place). But now that all the top three are invited to the Championship –– and former New Zealand pro Will Smith is recovering from years of knee injury –– if this whole team turns out they could seriously dominate the men's, women's and coed team categories. Watch out for Team Cheesehead.
